Back to TopCan KANINE be used on a network ?
KANINE 2006 is network ready from the start. The KANINE 2006 database folder can be placed on a shared network server and user's can either work directly against the network stored data, or individual users' data can be exported to the shared network databases. This allows the agency to combine all of the users' data into a single set of databases, providing the ability to review all of the handlers' records collectively.

My Usage or Training reports print a blank record!
If you have entered a usage report or training report and have tried to print the record only to find that it prints a blank report, then you probably have not entered an activity for that usage report. Each usage or training record entry must have an activity record entered for it, or it will print a blank report.
Can I use KANINE 2006 from a USB Drive?
Yes. Like the previous version of KANINE, you can use the software along with a USB drive, making your data accessible wherever you go.
Follow these instructions:
I am receiving an error that refers to MDAC. HELP!
I have loaded KANINE 2006 and am receiving an error like the one below:
If you are running the KANINE 2006 software from a Windows XP platform, make sure that you are using XP Service pack 2, as Service Pack 2 installs the latest version of MDAC. If you are using SP2 and are having this problem, your MDAC is more than likely corrupt. Below is a complete description of the fix for this. If you are not lucky enough to have an IT department to complete this fix, give us a call and we'll try to walk you through it.
How to repair a copy of MDAC 2.8 SP1 on Windows XP with SP2 installed.
------------
Right-click on C:\Windows\Inf\mdac.inf and choose "Install". When
prompted for the XP SP2 media, point to the i386 folder in one of
these places: 1.
The \i386 folder on the XP SP2 CDROM. If you are unlucky enough to
have a CDROM that has XPSP2.EXE in the root of the CDROM, and
no \i386 folder, then you will have to create an i386 folder
using a command like this, XPSP2.EXE /X:C:\XpSp2 Then point
to C:\XpSp2\i386.
2. The \i386 folder on a slipstreamed XP SP2 installation CDROM.
When prompted for the XP installation media, point to the i386
folder in one of these places:
1. C:\Windows\ServicepackFiles\i386 (it may not like this location,
if not, go to the next one)
2. The \i386 folder on your XP installation CDROM. This reinstalls
and repairs MDAC 2.8.
