KANINE Software News
Version 5.1.41 was released Nov. 4th, 2011. August 2nd 2011 marked the one year point for the KANINE 5.0 version release. This
year has been an exciting year for us, marking better sales, lower support issues and, I think, just better overall satisfaction with the
software. We continue to pick up new users that are switching from other K9 software applications and continue to receive good user
comments and reviews of the software.

seamless inbound calling experience and ensures that you’ll never get a busy signal when trying to contact us. It also makes it
cost-free for your agency to contact us. This is a great benefit for us and we hope that it will be a great new benefit for you as well.

We are moving forward!!
As our long time users would expect, we are constantly working to improve your ability to maintain your K9 records. Right now is no
exception. A lot of study recently went into examining current and emerging technologies so that we could build a plan to
accommodate our current and future users needs. With all of the different technologies, this was not an easy task. However, rest
assured that we have a plan, and that plan includes the ability to embrace the latest software technologies so that our users
continue to have the absolute best K9 software available on the market.
So, what’s the plan?
Well, to stay competitive, I can’t really disclose the plan. Not yet, at least. However, we can tell you this...

KANINE 5.0 will continue to be adjusted, maintained and supported for several years to come. If KANINE 5.0 completely
satisfies your needs. Rest assured that you will continue to receive updates and support for a long time coming.

KANINE 2006/KANINE 4.0, which was originally released in September of 2006, will reach end of life and will no longer
receive mainstream support as of January 1st, 2012. If you are a user of one of these versions, please upgrade to the
KANINE 5.0 as soon as possible. The current cost for this is only $50.00 per user license.

A new, more flexible version of KANINE will be officially announced on February 1st, 2012. This new version is will be
released shortly after on a yet undisclosed date. On January 1st, 2012, registered KANINE users will be allowed to view a
sneak peek, which will include screen shots of the new system, information about the features in the new system and
preliminary pricing.

The new version will include the ability to import your existing KANINE 5.0 records.
•
The first half of the year will include a lot of new features including some smart phone capabilities.

Because of the increased costs of supporting the technology that the new system will possess, there will be yearly fees to use
the software. However, these fees are not expected to be higher than $45.00 per user. There will not, however, be any actual
upgrade fees for current KANINE users to move to the new system.
I personally, am very excited as I watch the new version move closer and closer towards completion each and every day. It looks
amazing, it’s fast, it’s VERY flexible, and most importantly, it’s easy. So remember....January 1st!!
