Automatic Update Functionality About KANINE’s auto updating features Our belief in developing software is that good software is never finished. As technology changes and the needs of the software users change, so must the software. To facilitate these changes, we have built in an auto-update feature that assists the user in keeping their KANINE software up to date. Enabling/ Disabling the Auto-Updater By default, the Auto-updating capabilities in KANINE are enabled. Auto-Updates are optional, however, and can be turned off by going to Tools/Settings from the main KANINE screen and un-checking the Allow automatic updates  check box. When automatic updates are disabled, the menu item to Check for Updates will not be visible to the user. Under the hood The auto updater checks for updates every 7 days. To do so, the updater must have an internet connection. So, if you have a laptop that does not normally have an internet connection, you will not get automatic updates. You can, however, still use the software as normal and can connect the laptop to the internet occasionally to check for updates manually by going to Help/Check for Updates from the main screen. You can manually check for updates as frequently as you like. How do the updates work? When the auto updater checks for and finds an update, the user will see a large dialogue screen that explains what features and fixes the update includes. The user can, at this time, choose to either install the update, or cancel the process and install the update later. All updates are all-inclusive. So, if you miss an update for some reason, the next update will bring your software completely up to date.
